Therapeutic Table Massage
As an ever-increasing part of many medical therapies, massage therapy has proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including fatigue, high blood pressure, back pain, arthritis, depression, insomnia, digestive disorders, anxiety and more. Massage also helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday life that can lead to illness and disease. Therapeutic Table Massage Therapy is performed on a massage table, the disrobed client covered by a sheet, with only the area being worked on exposed. It incorporates Swedish, Deep Tissue and Trigger Point Massage to stimulate circulation, and relieve knots and chronic muscle tension in deeper seated muscles and the fascia. A combination of techniques are used, with the application of lotion to reduce friction on the skin. Benefits of Therapeutic Massage include stress reduction, and relief of muscular tensions, soreness and pain. The intent of this treatment is to calm the nervous system and begin the process of flushing toxins and waste from the body and create an atmosphere of healing for the mind and body.
Heaven and Earth Massage
Both practical and indulgent, Heaven and Earth is a soothing 45-minute head, scalp and neck massage, followed by pressure point massage of the feet. The head, scalp and neck are massaged rhythmically in order to open the energy channels, clearing the way for the body to engage in its own healing process. Soothing massage of the reflex points in the feet causes the body to send signals that balance the nervous system and release healthy chemicals, such as endorphins, to relieve pain and stress. This heavenly experience will leave you with a deeper sense of inner balance and connectedness within your mind and body. Benefits include relief from tension headaches, neck and shoulder stiffness, plantar fasciitis, mental fatigue and anxiety.
Care for yourself throughout all stages of your pregnancy with this massage specifically designed for expectant mothers. Prenatal massage will help to reduce stress, fatigue, low back pain and edema, promoting a sense of relaxation and calm.
Traditional Thai Yoga Massage
Thai massage is a form of body work that is becoming increasingly popular in the West. A traditional Thai massage incorporates an ancient combination of acupressure, energy meridian work, and yoga-like stretching for an invigorating and balancing experience. Thai massage improves circulation, flexibility, muscle tone, and is the perfect complement to any exercise routine.
Thai massage is most different from other forms of massage in that there is no oil used, that the therapist uses a mattress on the floor (as opposed to a table), and that you remain completely clothed throughout the massage. Thai massage will help to relax sore or tense muscles, and can help to recapture lost range of motion. By encouraging lymphatic function, this traditional deep tissue massage and stretching can also detoxify the body, heighten the immune system, and prevent disease and/or injury by promoting flexibility.
Chinese Cupping Therapy
Cupping Therapy is a form of Traditional Chinese medicine. Like acupuncture, Cupping has been documented as a healing remedy in works written by Chinese herbalists dating back to 300 AD.
Cupping is a technique that uses small glass cups or bamboo jars as suction devices that are placed on the skin, usually on the back. A cotton ball is used to create a flame which, in one fluid motion, is placed into the cup, quickly removed, and the cup is placed on the skin. By adding fire to the inside of the cup, oxygen is removed and the suction is created.
Once the suction has occurred, the cups can be left in place along the acupressure points or meridians of the body, or can be moved across the skin, referred to as “gliding Cupping”. The suction in the cups causes the skin and superficial muscle layer to be lightly drawn into the cup. Cupping is much like the inverse of massage – rather than applying pressure to muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. For most individuals, this is a particularly relaxing and relieving sensation.
Like acupuncture, Cupping follows the lines of the meridians on the back. By targeting the meridian channels, Cupping strives to ‘open’ these channels – the paths through which life energy flows freely throughout the body, through all tissues and organs, thus providing a more free-flowing qi (life force). Cupping can affect tissues up to four inches deep from the external skin. Toxins can be released, blockages can be cleared, and veins and arteries can be refreshed.
The suction and negative pressure provided by Cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system. Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines.
Cupping can be added on to a traditional table massage or experienced as a stand-alone treatment.
The Raindrop Technique® is a relaxing yet invigorating massage that combines aromatherapy, Swedish massage (including Feather Stroke) and Reflexology-like Vita Flex techniques. It is performed in a tranquil environment, with soft lighting and relaxing music. A sequence of therapeutic-grade Young Living essential oils are applied to the spinal reflex points of the feet and gently massaged into the back and neck. The nervous system begins to gently awaken with the performance of Vita Flex on the feet and with the relaxing massage strokes along the spine, the oils are transported throughout your entire system. These techniques, combined with the Young Living oils, may help to promote circulation, including lymphatic drainage, throughout the body. The oils used in the Raindrop Technique® have been chosen for their powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, aiding the body in the natural detoxification processes and promoting overall health and wellness. A Raindrop session lasts 60-75 minutes and the benefits can continue in the body for 7-10 days afterwards. Experience this powerfully healing and relaxing massage for yourself!
Massage Appointment Policies
Unexpected events happen to everyone occasionally. However, in an effort to be fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:
Cancellation Policy: 24 hours’ notice is required when cancelling an appointment, allowing another client to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give 24 hours’ notice, you may be charged the full amount of the massage appointment, payable prior to your next scheduled appointment.
No Show Policy: If you choose not to attend your appointment or to notify your therapist, you will be charged the full amount of the massage appointment.
Late Arrivals: If you arrive late, your session may need to be shortened to meet the scheduled time of the appointment following yours. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your therapist will determine whether or not there is enough time for the treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you may be responsible for the cost of the full session. Please be considerate to your therapist and other clients and plan to arrive on time.
I look forward to working with you!
